For the couple behind Moon Products creations, Ian and Barbara Eckford, Queenstown's natural beauty provides the inspiration for their original designs using handmade papers made from recycled or bi-product materials such as pineapple leaf, bamboo fibre, rice husk, water hyacinth and woven palm leaves.

The papers are then carefully crafted into hand-sewn and bound albums presented in gorgeous boxes with matching journals, notebooks and notepads.

An extensive and ever-expanding range of materials and product lines from delicate flower petals to textured sugar palm fibre means Moon Products has the look to fit any occasion. Silver and gold embossed leaf designs in four sizes and with up to 30 pages for large format photos are perfect for weddings and anniversaries.

Ian and Barbara, who previously ran a top performing pharmacy on the Hibiscus Coast for 20 years, believe good service lies behind the success of every business. Seeking a lifestyle change they settled in Queenstown and purchased Moon Products, formerly known as Tanah Moon Limited.

Relishing the challenge of building up the company and injecting their enthusiasm for quality and care, the couple have restored depleted stocks, reduced prices on most lines, revamped packaging and designed and produced exciting new product lines.

With two categories to cater for boutique gifts, tourist, photo, book and florist outlets and a large range of colours and materials Moon Products can customise a look for corporate or promotional requirements. Armed with colour or style specifications Ian and Barbara are happy to create a design to suit any purpose or budget but customers need to allow four to five months for this sort of order due to the handcrafted nature of the work.
